What is AAU Cares?
The AAU strives to provide athletes with first-class athletic opportunities but, beyond the athletic surface, we strongly believe in instilling a sense of social responsibility in our 800,000 members nationwide. AAU Cares is our way of giving back to the community. Check out the "Events" tab to see highlights!
How to get involved:
AAU Cares is for everyone! The goal is for this program to extend beyond national championship events and into all sports, districts, teams and members in the Union.
Getting involved is easy:
1. Identify an event in your sport/district that might be a good fit for an AAU Cares event. Some events (i.e. packing meals for underprivileged youth) require a significant amount of space, while others (i.e. a food or toy drive) require almost no space to execute.
2. Identify a non-profit or charity organization to help accomplish your goals. The AAU has worked with Feeding Children Everywhere, St. Jude Charities and a number of other charities at national championship events. Select a charity whose mission best reflects your values as a sport or district.
3. Get everyone involved! Spread the word and have fun giving back to your community.
