NEW ENGLAND (April 1, 2024) – New England AAU Baseball is back in full swing and looking for another grand slam year. Athletes are ready for the warm weather and to hear the umpire yell “Play Ball!”
April 6, 2024 will mark the launch of the 26th season for the New England AAU Baseball League. The oldest AAU Baseball league in the country is showing no signs of slowing down. More than 400 teams will be competing for the title of New England AAU Baseball Champions.
With 12 major tournaments from now through July, there will be no shortage of web-gem plays and a few championships earned.
The annual league is for athletes 9 and under up to 18 years old. The Spring Classic will be the first big tournament of the year for 9u-14u. Athletes will travel to Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts on April 13 and 14 for their first chance at a 2024 AAU tournament championship.
With first pitch happening in four days, here’s an explanation of how it works.
Regular Season Games: All teams are placed into league divisions with 5 to 7 other teams in a similar area. All teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader versus each of their divisional opponents. To see the full Regular Season Schedule, click here.
League Playoffs: Regular season results are used to qualify teams to the League Playoffs. The pool play round of the playoffs will determine which teams advance to bracket play. Playoff qualification criteria is traditionally announced a few weeks prior to the start of each age groups regular season.
At the end of it all, the top performers during the postseason will be selected to the League Playoff All Tournament Team. Selections for the All Playoff Tournament Team are made by the semifinalists, finalists, and champion team in each age group and division. One Playoff MVP is selected. Playoffs for the NEAAU Baseball League are: 9-12U – June 8 – 9, 13-14U – July 13 – 14, and 15-18U – July 27 – 28. What teams will protect their championship and go back-to-back? Which teams will start their revenge tour and seek redemption?
