New York, NY (August 16, 2024) – AAU Gymnastics is thrilled to announce an exciting event in the heart of New York City! On September 14-15, AAU Gymnastics will host live demonstrations in Times Square, showcasing the talent and skill of some of the nation’s most promising athletes. This event is designed to inspire and engage the community, with a special focus on providing opportunities for the youth in underserved communities interested in the sport.  
 
In addition to the demonstrations, AAU Gymnastics is offering hands-on clinics where youth can learn basic gymnastics skills directly from the athletes and coaches. These clinics are specifically tailored to introduce the youth to the sport, encouraging them to explore their potential in a supportive and engaging environment. This event is open to the local community groups to join in the fun and experience the magic of gymnastics in one of the world’s most iconic locations.
 
With the support of AAI, all equipment used for the demonstrations will be donated to local area P.A.L.’s (Police Athletic Leagues- https://palnyc.org/) to provide further opportunities for children to grow their love and talent for the sport of gymnastics. 
 
AAU Gymnastics Chair, Jessica Harris expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating, “We are so excited to bring the energy and spirit of gymnastics to Times Square. This event is a unique opportunity for young people in the community to experience the joy of gymnastics, learn new skills, and potentially discover a lifelong passion.”
