2024-2025 Team Declaration

OFFICIAL AAU COLLEGE HOCKEY PROGRAM DECLARATION PROCESS

The official first phase of the 2024-2025 pre-season will commence with distributing the Official Member Declaration Forms for DI, DII, DIII, our Women's Division, and the new AAU College Federation (Non-Tournament Division). The links to the Declaration Forms are linked to the graphics to the left. These comprehensive documents will collect the necessary information to develop our National Member Directory for this season and secure member team acknowledgments of standards and expectations for the 2024-2025 season.

The Declaration Forms must be completed for each member program. If an organization has multiple teams declaring for different divisions, forms for each team must be completed. To complete these documents, the team representative completing the document will need to have the following information:

  1. College/University Information (Address and Official Website)
  2. Contact information for all coaches, team administration, faculty advisors, and team president.
  3. All Social Media account handles and web addresses
  4. The Authority to digitally sign an attestation of Competitive Standards and Expectations

** Only the approved Division I programs, confirmed by the AAU College Hockey Administration, should complete the DI Declaration Document

** Programs requesting Divisional Movement up or down to or within Divisions II & III may only do so with Conference Authorization and AAU Verification.

** All teams declaring DI, DII, and DIII will be classified as Tournament-Bound and are expected to follow all established AAU College Hockey and Divisional Competitive Standards. DI, DII, and DIII member programs are also expected to make all efforts to be present and compete as scheduled in their respective National Tournaments.

** Any team in any division that begins the season intending to participate in the National Tournament, if qualified, must formally confirm their intent to accept a Nationals Bid, if awarded, no later than December 1st of each season, to their Conference and Divisional Commissioner. Failure to commit and not accept a Nationals Bid by the December 1 deadline may lead to financial penalties, the revocation of the program's "In Good Standing" status, a potential ban from all AAU-sanctioned Post-Season Play, and potential downgrading from the current division status and other probationary measures.

** Programs that know they cannot commit to the National Tournament but intend to adhere to their respective division's established competitive standards before the season starts must notify their conference and divisional commissioner by September 1.

** Programs that are knowingly unable to adhere to full compliance with the established AAU and Divisional Competitive Standards and who have no intent to compete for National Tournament Qualification MUST declare their membership in the AAU College Federation, which will be the division consisting of all member teams formerly referred to as Non-Tournament Bound.

The document's content clearly outlines all this information, but in the event that questions or concerns arise, program leadership should contact their conference commissioners.
