The AAU Taekwondo National Lettering Program
Offers taekwondo practitioners the ability to earn a Varsity Letter, even if their high school currently does not have a taekwondo program or if they are homeschooled. This program recognizes and awards Taekwondo Athletes/Students in grades 8th -12th ages 13-18 years old. To be Eligible, a student must:
- Have a current Year AAU Member
- Be a Member of the AAU TKD Highschool Varsity
- Hold rank in Taekwondo (actively training)
- Submit proof of enrollment and hold a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Participate in an AAU TKD District & another event (athlete, officiate, coach, or volunteer)
- Submit 2 letters of recommendations
- From Martial Arts Instructor/Master or Coach
- From someone outside of Martial Arts (Examples: Teacher, Mentor, etc.)
- Complete 75 Hours of Taekwondo Per Year (Training, competitions, teaching).
- Please note that, the Instructor must sign off on the hours.
AAU Taekwondo High School Varsity Membership ($75)
- AAU National Varsity Letterman Patch
- AAU National Varsity Lapel Pin
- AAU National Varsity Achievement Certificate
- Invited to attend the AAU National Varsity Banquet held at the AAU Taekwondo NationalChampionships, where they will receive their honors and be recognized for their great achievements.
We understand that earning a Varsity Letter is a rite of passage and huge honor, the AAU Taekwondo High School Varsity program looks forward to honoring High School Taekwondo Practitioners on this great achievement.
